History of 15 years of Aareal Bank in Poland

CEE REGION Aareal Bank is looking to expand its market position in the property markets in Poland and the CEE region. The German bank has been active in Poland and in the CEE region for the last 15 years. In that period Aareal Bank Warsaw has co-financed such developments as the Plac Unii office and retail complex, the Warsaw Marriott Hotel and the Metro portfolio of 28 shopping centres across Poland. The Polish market has since become an integral part of Aareal Bank’s regional business development in Central and Eastern Europe, with the Poland/Warsaw branch now acting as a business hub for all Aareal Bank's activities in the region and Eastern Europe, in close cooperation with its Moscow office.

“In the last 15 years, we’ve witnessed some very exciting and extensive developments, changes, challenges and growth on the rapidly changing and dynamic property markets in the CEE region. Aareal Bank feels a deep connection to Warsaw, Poland, and the CEE region with its clients and business partners, and would like to play a key role in helping the region to develop further in the future, too,” commented Michael Sternicki, the general manager of Aareal Bank for Poland.

“With our most recent acquisitions and our in-depth knowledge of the market, we are ideally placed and strategically on track to further consolidate and expand our market position,” added Karl Wilson, the bank’s general manager for Central and Eastern Europe.

Aareal Bank Group is an international specialist property bank that operates on three continents: Europe, North America and Asia. On the Polish property market, Aareal Bank concentrates on financing large-scale commercial properties – particularly office buildings, logistics properties, retail and hotels – and provides short- and long-term loans for all property classes, focusing in particular on investment financing (existing properties).
