Daniel Libeskind talks about the reborn Złota 44 project

Daniel Libeskind talks about Złota 44 and Warsaw in Cannes.

"I am so thrilled – the blood is flowing, I get goosebumps. It’s fantastic that the project is really kind of reborn and is taking off with American investors and new partners. It’s really fantastic. Because I not only love this project, but I want to see it finished in the way it was conceived. It is not just one more project, but it will have a spirit of the city, the spirit of Warsaw, the spirit of architecture... and will contribute to people’s daily lives. And this is not an office building. It’s a place for people to live. And this will make a big difference to the centre of Warsaw,” Daniel Libeskind told 'Eurobuild CEE' about the Złota 44 project he designed.

"Warsaw? I can hardly recognise the same city I remember when I was 13 year old kid. Every time I come back I see not only more development, but also the spirit of people, art, music, culture, it is an inspiration and I think it is not by coincidence that Poland is such an important country in the European Union. It is a very powerful country because it’s got so much energy, so much history, but so much vision of the future. Oh, I would love to work in Poland, definitely. How can I not be connected to Poland? My first languages are Polish and Yiddish. This is where I grew up. My parents were deeply connected – their families were living in Poland for hundreds of years. So it’s inevitable. I still read Polish books, in Polish. It’s part of my life. And... I am Polish!" said the New York based architect.
