Jürgen Mayer, J. Mayer H. und Partner Architekten, about new project

"We are invilved right now in a project in Salt Market in Wrocław, which is a fantastic project, that connects history and the future," said Jürgen Mayer, founding partner, J. Mayer H. und Partner Architekten.

"The yellow house is a building that was built in medieval times; it was renovated and became a renaissance building. Now, it is a baroque building and stands next to a modernist building. We are going to add a contemporary lightly sculptured façade to the courtyard of the yellow house. We are collaborating with Major Architekci [from Wrocław]. Now, a couple months ago, we started construction work. And we are looking forward to adding a new component to the history of architecture in Wrocław," was what he said about the Wrocław Plac Solny 4, Oppenheim tenement project.

"It is interesting to see how Warsaw is being transformed. It feels like it is a very big city. It has its own dynamic with high-rise buildings, and at the same time, it has very open areas that can become public spaces. We could also add architecture that interacts with the public spaces and it would be fantastic to be involved in such contemporary architecture," said the architect from Berlin.

"Several years ago we were involved in a hotel project in Kraków with Ovotz Design. It is a hotel next to the Congress Centre, that looks over the whole skyline of Kraków, from Kazimierz, to the castle, to the old town. It was our first international project. It was very interesting and very exciting collaborating, actually coming to Kraków, seeing the city being transformed, and also today becoming a very contemporary city," explained founding partner of J. Mayer H. und Partner Architekten.
