Consulate full of design

The interiors of the consular department of the Poland Embassy in Prague have been designed by architects from the Warsaw-based 81.WAW.PL studio. The refurbished department has been furnished with products of exclusively Polish design and manufacture. The starting point for developing the design was finding common features between Poland and the Czech Republic. “The denominators include the high-rise prefab housing estates made of precast concrete elements, typical of the communist era,” emphasises Anna Paszkowska-Grudziąż, an architect from 81.WAW.PL. Hence the application of modern precast concrete for the wall cladding. The concrete diamond-shaped tiles have been produced by Klinika Betonu.
