Toruń's CKK Jordanki nears completion

POLAND Cultural and congressional centre Jordanki in Toruń is set to open in the autumn. Centrum Kulturalno-Kongresowe Jordanki, which is being erected by Mostostal Warszawa, was designed by a Spanish architect, Fernando Menis.

The unique Jordanki multi-functional concert hall, which is partly submerged in the water, will feature white concrete and brick interiors. The six-storey centre will host events of all kinds, including concerts of different music genres, theater plays, musicals, fashion and trade shows and well as film screenings. Once completed, Centrum Kulturalno-Kongresowe Jordanki will offer 22,000 sqm of usable space. “There will be a hall with a stage, a place for orchestra and 880 seating places. The building will also have an open air stage with 300 seats, as well as some technical, management and social rooms. Also, 185 parking spaces will be provided next to the centre. The work is advanced as the construction is planned to be finished in the autumn,” said Arkadiusz Biniek, Mostostal Warszawa’s contract director. The construction work on the project started in April 2013.
