2nd Amateur Skiing Tournament

The Eurobuild CEE CUP 2016 once again proved that real estate professionals know no fear or unhealthy sporting rivalry.

Eurobuild CEE’s second annual amateur giant slalom tournament, which again gathered together the most courageous winter sports enthusiasts from the commercial real estate market, took place at the Górka Szczęśliwicka ski slope in Warsaw on February 19th, 2016. Seven teams of four took up the challenge despite the pouring rain, heavily iced track and above-zero temperatures. These were the CBRE, Colliers, Hines, Intelligent Technologies, LIM, Xplan, and Eurobuild CEE's own daredevils. Whether experienced or entirely new to the sport, all skiers battled with their weaknesses, the weather and, of course, each other over two rounds. After the first round only the best four teams were to go into the final round.

Each team’s final score was calculated from the total times of all the members of the team. The LIM team, made up of Rafał Gierczak, Łukasz Dołęga, Artur Sokołowski and Mirosław Sedłak, was ranked first in the general classification, with the combined result of 1 minute 8.08 seconds. This is the second time that the LIM skiers have taken gold at the Eurobuild Cup skiing tournament. This year the winning team was followed by Colliers (represented by Agnieszka Woźniak, Michał Mierzwa, Mateusz Zając and Katarzyna Jaśkiewicz), whose combined time amounted to 1 minute 18.52 seconds, and Hines (represented by Anna Korol, Bartek Kostrzewa, Łukasz Pawikowski and Bartek Sutkowski), who scored a total of 1 minute 19.15 seconds. The fourth place was taken by Xplan. In addition to this, LIM’s Mirosław Sedłak took the first place in the individual male category with 16.49 seconds, the fastest time of the tournament, while Katarzyna Jaśkiewicz of the Colliers team won herself first place in the tournament’s individual female category with 18.68 seconds.

In the evening, a special après ski party and the award ceremony were held at the famous Lolek Pub in Warsaw. Equipped with their winter accessories, such as loud sweaters, the tournament’s participants celebrated their smaller and bigger victories and analysed their own mistakes and the technique of their competitors’ over some beer and comfort food with live music in the background. After all, who needs the Alps to have some winter fun and take a ski break?

We would like to congratulate all the winners and thank all the participants for their commitment and fair play. See you on the slopes!
