Winners of the Eurobuild Awards 2019

Around 950 people gathered at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Warsaw on December 3rd for the gala awards ceremony 10th Eurobuild Awards gala. During the event a number of awards were presented, including jury awards, the tenant awards, the special awards of decade, the popular vote awards and an award for outstanding contribution to the real estate market.

Those present at the ceremony were given the opportunity to choose the winners for three awards in an electronic vote: the Personality of the Year, the Outstanding Non-Business Achievement of the Year and the Newcomer of the Year.

The Personality of the Year as voted by those in attendance at the Eurobuild Awards 2019 gala was Magdalena Kowalewska, the Poland country manager at Immofinanz.

The Outstanding Non-Business Achievement of the Year went to JLL for its Charity Real Estate Beach Volleyball Tournament.

The Newcomer of the Year was awarded to WeWork.

A jury composed of 252 real estate professionals, and they have selected the buildings and companies that have stood out on the Polish real estate and construction markets in 2019. For the Polish market, the awards went to:

Elektrownia Powiśle – Office for New Office Building of the Year, Poland.

Park Polkowice for New Small Retail Format of the Year.

Moxy Warsaw Praga for New Hotel of the Year, Poland.

CBRE for Office Agency Team of the Year, Poland.

JLL for Retail Agency Team of the Year, Poland.

JLL for Warehouse Agency Team of the Year, Poland.

Dentons for Law Firm of the Year, Poland.

CridoTaxand for Tax & Financial Consultancy of the Year, Poland.

JLL for Building Consultancy of the Year, Poland.

CBRE for Property Management Company of the Year, Poland.

Skanska for Real Estate Construction Company of the Year, Poland.

CBRE for Investment Agency Team of the Year, Poland.

Amazon Panattoni BTS Gliwice for New Warehouse of the Year, Poland.

Ghelamco Poland for Office Developer of the Year, Poland.

Atrium Poland Real Estate Management for Retail Developer of the Year, Poland.

Warsaw for Most Investor-Friendly City, Poland. Second and third places went to Kraków and Łódź.

The Eurobuild Awards are not just about Poland, and prizes are also awarded to companies for their achievements across the CEE region. This year the winners were:

Panattoni for Warehouse Developer of the Year CEE.

Globalworth for Investor of the Year CEE.

Helaba for Financing Provider of the Year, CEE.

For the final award, Investment Deal of the Year CEE, the jury was most impressed by the transaction between investor Immofinanz and developer Ghelamco, in which Warsaw Spire Tower changed hands for around EUR 386 mln.

The Eurobuild Awards are not only awarded by the members of a jury, since the winners of six awards are also chosen by the tenants of the projects. And here are their verdicts:

Maraton in Poznań (developed by Skanska and owned by Union Investment) was chosen as the Office Building of the Year. Rondo I and the Warsaw Financial Center also made the top three.

For the Office Manager of the Year the tenants chose the management of the Olivia Business Centre in Gdańsk.

For the Shopping Centre of the Year award the tenants gave the highest ranking to Serenada in Kraków. The two malls that came second and third were Galaxy Szczecin and Factory Poznań.

The Shopping Centre Manager of the year also went to the Serenada shopping centre so the award goes to Maciej Kiełbicki, the managing director of Mayland Real Estate.

In the warehouse sector, Prologis Park Błonie garnered the most votes as the Warehouse of the Year.

After counting up the votes of the tenants’ the title of the Warehouse Manager of the Year went to Maciej Szyma, the property manager of Segro Logistic Park Gliwice.

This year’s event included the presentation of special awards for those who have made the greatest impact on the market over the last decade. The statuettes were awarded to:

Ghelamco Poland for Office Developer of the Decade, Poland. The runners up were Skanska Property Poland and Echo Investment.

Panattoni Europe for Warehouse Developer of the Decade, CEE. Prologis came second and Segro Poland was third.

Atrium Poland Real Estate Management for Retail Developer of the Decade, Poland. The winner was closely followed by Echo Investment and Globe Trade Center.

Griffin Real Estate for Investor of the Decade, CEE. EPP and the Globalworth also made the top three.

JLL for Real Estate Agency of the Decade, Poland. CBRE was second and Colliers International came third

In 2019 the award for Outstanding Contribution to the Real Estate Market was created to honour the person that has most contributed to the development of the market over the last ten years.

The honour was awarded to Robert Dobrzycki, the CEO of Panattoni Europe.
