Four years since the certification of the first ecological building in Poland, the number of green facilities has increased to 152 and continues to grow. Tenants have plenty to choose from. The question is: how to choose the best one? Each certified building should theoretically ensure lower energy consumption and savings in terms of operating costs. Is this really the case? There are many arguments in favour of leasing environmentally friendly space. Starting from respect for the environment to the financial benefits: lower rents, better working conditions and lower staffing costs – research shows that people become ill less often in green offices and that they are more efficient. But perhaps ‘green building’ is only a marketing slogan devised to give developers and tenants peace of mind? There could be come truth in this. Lack of knowledge or awareness of environmental issues among the users of buildings can often leave developers with a headache, as it is they who then have to go to the expense of installing modern ecological systems. Everyone loses out if both the devices used and the habits of the users are not up to the latest green standards. We will discuss how to avoid losing out and instead how to come out on top in the ecological race during the ‘Office Space and Green Solutions’ conference and workshops organised by Eurobuild Conferences.
