Kielce coronation

By beating off Magnolia Park in Wrocław and Riviera in Gdańsk, Galeria Korona Kielce in Kielce won the title of the Shopping Centre of the Year in the tenants’ vote at the Eurobuild Awards 2017. The survey, carried out by research company Millward Brown, included 29 Polish malls, which were assessed by their tenants in a questionnaire comprising 33 questions

This is not the first time Galeria Korona Kielce has come out on top at the Eurobuild Awards. It was also regarded as the best of its kind by tenants in 2015. That year Michał Góźdź, who remains its managing director, was voted best shopping centre manager. Today the centre can be proud of earning a very important distinction, as its latest accolade has been bestowed upon it by retail chains. The tenants surveyed gave the mall top scores in eight categories: satisfaction with the presence of key tenants (joint top with Manufaktura), satisfaction with the external architecture (also with Manufaktura), the signage of the mall, the ratio of revenue to rent, the service charges and the method of their calculation, satisfaction with the servicing of the centre, and the performance of their stores in the centre compared to other locations. All the retail chains operating in the centre that took part in the survey confirmed that they would open stores again in Korona Kielce. “At Galeria Korona we approach each client’s needs individually. Having 150 shops in the centre, each client can find something here for themselves. The operations of Galeria Korona over the last five years show that the shopping centre is perfectly positioned for both the latest trends and the expectations of its clients – bold and creative projects have been implemented and its range of retail and services has been expanded with new brands,” claims Michał Góźdź.

Five years on the market

This year marks the fifth anniversary of the opening of Galeria Korona Kielce. “Over the last five years our city centre project has earned the admiration of shoppers, as is confirmed by the increasing footfall in our centre,” adds Michał Góźdź. However, the management of the mall has no intention of resting on its laurels and is continually striving to adapt to customers’ changing expectations and needs as much as it can. This year a number of tenants decided to open new stores with the latest interior design concepts. These larger stores in new locations in the centre were opened with designs. These included LPP group’s fashion brands (Reserved, Cropp, House, Mohito and Sinsay). Footwear retailer CCC also opened an extended store re-designed according to its latest store concept. The tenant mix of Galeria Korona Kielce has also been enriched by additional brands, such as Ochnik and Home&You. Furthermore, the centre features a large number of brands that cannot be found elsewhere in either the city or the region. “Our tenants include the only outlets of Pandora, Yes, Tommy Hilfiger, By O La La…! and Smyk Mega Store in the region – as these brands only open in the best shopping centres in Poland,” boasts Michał Góźdź.

Following the trends

The retail market as a whole has been recently focusing on strengthening the food & beverage offer – and Galeria Korona Kielce is no exception having enlarged its restaurant section. A Kuchnia Marche restaurant has opened along with Amrest operated brands such as Pizza Hut Delux, Olimp, KFC, McDonald’s, Tutti Santi, Pierogowa Uczta, Sevi Kebab, Silver Dragon and Subway. Entertainment also plays an important role in the mall, where you can visit the largest Multikino in the region (nine screens), a premium standard Jatomi Fitness club (including a swimming pool and a squash club), as well as bring your children to the Czary Mary play zone. Galeria Korona Kielce also has a Facebook page, where it is followed by more than 25,000 people.
