Stefan Vanoverbeke has become the new head for IKEA South East Europe, where he will be responsible for the company’s operations in Romania, Croatia, Serbia and Slovenia. In his new position Stefan will also be involved in setting IKEA’s expansion strategy. In Romania he will replace the current country manager Cornel Oprişan, who is set to remain within the IKEA Group and lead a multi-channel sales global research project. In other SEE countries Stefan will replace Dragan Skalušević. Previously Stefan served as CEO of IKEA France and IKEA Poland. In 2013, he was among the IKEA France executives accused of spying on their employees. He graduated from the Catholic University of Leuven with a degree in civil engineering. He also holds a master's degree in social sciences from the same university.
