Contract signed for Museum of Polish History

It was signed by the director of the Museum of Polish History Robert Kostro and Szczepan Wroński, the president of the WXCA architectural studio. The museum should be finished on the 100th anniversary of the restoration of Poland’s independence on November 11th, 2018. “This will be a continuation of the design of the Museum of Polish Army in Warsaw’s Citadel, which we have been implementing since 2009 as the winner of an international competition. A building permit has already been issued for the complex of newly-designed facilities, the adaptation of historic buildings as well as necessary technical infrastructure. Such a complex and important project for the country has been adapted over time to the changing conditions. A governmental decision was made in 2015 on situating the Museum of Polish History in the Citadel, next to the Museum of the Polish Army, which was also designed by us, as well as the Independence Museum and the Katyń Museum , which are already in operation. The latest contract involves a replacement design for the main building of the complex, which will make it possible for the Museum of Polish History to make specific adjustments. The aim is to create an open area for Warsaw’s residents in the Warsaw Citadel and a complex of museums constituting a treasury of artefacts of the history of our country,” explains Marta Sękulska-Wrońska, a partner of the WXCA architectural studio.
