POLAND The opening of Posnania is to take place in October. The final work on the external façade of the building is in progress and the installation of the suspended ceilings and lighting is being completed.
The shopping centre, which is being developed in Poznań, is 95 pct leased and 50 pct of its area has already been taken up by tenants. The range of brands in the mall has recently been added to by 40 new fashion, sports and catering brands. The most numerous group of Posnania’s tenants are fashion brands, and include such names as Caterina, Patrizia Aryton, Lee Wrangler, Orsay, Tatuum, Esprit Próchnik, Vistula, Bytom, Pierre Cardin, Bartek, Smyk, Toys’R’Us, Optyk Kids, US Polo, Guess by Marciano, Trussardi, Tous, Bizuu and iSpot Apple Premium Reseller. Its sports gear tenants, Adidas, Puma, New Balance, Snickers and Intersport, have recently been joined by Martes Sport. “I am glad that American fashion brand Forever 21, which is popular all over the world, will be making its Polish debut in Poznań. Some tenants, including Carrefour, Leroy Merlin and the Inditex group, have already started the fit-out work in their shops and outlets,” revealed Marek Błędowski, the commercial director and member of the board of Apsys Polska. As many as 25,000 sqm, i.e. a quarter of the leasable space, will be taken up by lifestyle brands. The cafés and restaurants have been joined by Hana Sushi, Bon Apetito and a local Italian restaurant called Parma & Rucola. Posnania will feature the first Helios cinema in the city, with an area of more than 4,500 sqm, eight screens and 1,600 seats. The entertainment centre zone will also include Gravitacja, where it will be possible to go bowling and play pool. Fabryka Formy will be opening its first club in Poznań, which will include a swimming pool, a wellness area and a fitness area.. Posnania will also offer additional services such as collect & try, hands free shopping, concierge services (e.g. reservation of tickets, tables and organisation of events), free of charge wi-fi throughout the centre, a special loyalty programme for holders of Posnania payment cards as well as valet parking. The road layout around the shopping centre has been altered together with the construction of Posnania, as well as new public spaces around the building. The two main areas will be a square in front of the entrance, at the junction of ul. Jana Pawła II and ul. Kórnicka, as well as an alley connecting the Rataje roundabout and Posnania. The main square (which is to be transformed into an ice rink in the winter) will feature an amphitheatre with a fountain, cafés and restaurants with terraces as well as green and recreational areas and a designated area for events and concerts. The investor and developer of the project is Apsys Polska. Posnania is the largest retail project under development in Poland at the moment. Investment costs for the project will come to PLN 1.2 bln. The malls’ more than 300 brands (including 40 large- and medium-format stores), 220 boutiques, 40 restaurants and cafes will start up their operations in autumn 2016.
