Deloitte moves into Q22
Office & mixed-use developmentThe move took place on June 27th, before the official opening of the office building. An official opening for employees took place on June 22nd. Deloitte’s offices in the tower developed by Echo Investment have been designed with the involvement of employees. The company occupies 11,000 sqm – ten floors – of this 42-storey building.
“We highlight the needs of the people working for us, and this is why we hope that a change in the philosophy behind the functioning of the office that we have opted for will strengthen communication, including the inter-generational communication. Furthermore, it will enable us to share our knowledge more efficiently. Our new interior design encourages us to meet and talk to each other more often and that alone strengthens the process of knowledge and experience exchange,” claims Marek Metrycki, the president of Deloitte in Poland.
After the June move another transfer is planned for December 2016. The company will occupy another three floors with a total area of almost 3,000 sqm. This has been necessitated by the company’s continuing growth, the inclusion of new service lines and the increasing number of its employees. The Polish branch of the company will eventually occupy a total of almost 14,000 sqm in Q22. Employees submit 95 ideas for the interior design, the meeting rooms, the kitchen and the cafeteria. This was done within three months using a special platform used by 337 people, with 1,500 votes cast for the 95 projects. The best ideas received awards and those with the greatest potential were implemented in the new office layout. In order to address employees’ and clients’ needs, the area occupied by Deloitte was mostly designed in line with ‘Activity Based Workplace’ principles. The offices have been divided into special zones that vary from each other; they are used for informal meetings, team work, creative work, design work and relaxation. The majority of the space occupied by Deloitte is open-plan and the vast majority of desks are not designated for specific people (with the exception of directors and internal departments). When out of the office, all the executives’ rooms are available to other employees as meeting rooms. The new office also includes small rooms for carrying out tasks that require focus and concentration.
The building also features sound proofing and sound damping elements, while there are also small rooms for telephone conversations. The premises will also feature many display screens, reducing the need for printing documents. A fitness club will be available free-of-charge for all of Q22’s tenants, while there will also be a large conference centre on the 14th floor. At the initiative of Deloitte, there is also a children’s care room run by professional babysitters/nannies. In the near future, Deloitte is to provide its employees with a special smartphone application that will not only include an interactive map of the office but also information about the amenities available throughout the building and in the surrounding area.
