LITHUANIA Construction firm Merko Statyba, a subsidiary of Estonian group Merko Ehitus, is to enlarge the Radisson Blu Hotel Lietuva hotel in Vilnius.
The investor behind the project is Viešbutis Lietuva. The project will cost EUR 15.7 mln. This was the first skyscraper hotel in Lithuania was built in 1966–1983 as the Lietuva hotel. Its 22 storeys include the Skybar restaurant on the top floor. The hotel was privatised in 1997 and in 2010 became part of the Radisson Blu chain. Radisson Blu Hotel Lietuva is located at 20 Konstitucijos Prospect in Vilnius. Merko Statyba is to construct a new building for the complex with eight storeys and a two-level underground car park. The new hotel building should be completed in Q1 2018.
