POLAND J.W. Construction has launched construction work on Hanza Tower in Szczecin.

The 500-apartment block tower, which is to be the tallest building between Gdańsk and Berlin, is to be completed in 2019. The 30-storey tower with a height of around 100m is to stand on a site that formerly belonged to the Dana clothing company. Apartments will range in size from 28 sqm to 220 sqm with retail and service units at the bottom of the building. “Residents will have a swimming pool at their disposal as well as, recreational facilities for children, teenagers and adults, a self-service laundrette, and a reception. There’s also going to be a retail and service area with restaurants, cafés, shops and boutiques,” says Małgorzata Ostrowska, a board member of J.W. Construction. The tower is to be built on top of a five storey podium, which is also to include office space and conference facilities and the complex is to be joined to and will extend the four-star Dana hotel. In February this year, Alior Bank agreed to provide the financing worth PLN 138.8 mln for the work (as well as to a PLN 3 mln loan to pay the VAT).
