Go Sport goes online

Go Sport goes online
Sebastien Jedrej, the general director of GO Sport Polska
POLAND Go Sport is aiming to operate 50 stores in shopping centres and retail parks by 2020. “In the next few years we are also planning to open smaller shops,” announced Sebastien Jedrej, the general director of Go Sport Polska. Its network currently amounts to 30 outlets in some of the largest cities in Poland, nine of which are located in Warsaw. The sports goods chain is focusing its growth outside the capital city.

“Having a strong position in Warsaw, we are also directing our expansion outside it. Due to this this we are planning to open two stores this year: in Galaxy in Szczecin and in Wroclavia in Wrocław. We are a credible tenant with high standards, thus we are planning to keep up the pace of a minimum of three openings per year,” added the head of Go Sport. The company’s plans for this year also include the modernisation of some outlets. “This year we are renovating one of our Warsaw stores – in Galeria Mokotów. The April reopening of the store will be followed by a marketing campaign and a sports event in May. The eventual area of the store will amount to 1,100 sqm after the renovations. The outlet in Galeria Mokotów will be our flagship store in terms of the concept,” explained Sebastien Jedrej.

Following the refurbishment the store should have better and clearer visual identification, which should have a positive impact on of the convenience of the shopping experience. In April the company is also launching its sales on the Allegro.pl platform.

“We are planning to exclusively sell our own brands through this channel. Our main aim is to start sales through the on-line channel, because Go Sport does not have an online shop, but is the idea is to increase the share and support of our own brand. The company has been working intensively on the introduction of the omnichannel model. I believe in it, besides our competitors are ahead of us in terms of online sales, so I have decided to change it. The company is aiming to launch omnichannel sales by the end of 2017,” insisted the general director of Go Sport Polska.
