Time for fun
ConstructionThe complex is being built on a 420 ha plot near Mszczonów, near Warsaw. The first stage, which is to be built on 20 ha, comprises the Suntago Wodny Świat water park, the centre is to operate seven days a week with a capacity of 15,000 visitors per day. Suntago is set to be the biggest water park in the CEE as well as the biggest indoor water park in Europe with a total area of 67,000 sqm. The centre is to have a car park for 2,500 vehicles with 8,000 lockers for visitors. A restaurant and four bars in close proximity to the pools are also planned. The complex will have three different themed zones: Saunaria (with over 10 different kinds of saunas, massage parlours, mineral water pools and solaria), Relaks (with 700 palm trees, an indoor swimming pool with an area of 1,000 sqm and a pool 20,000 sqm situated pool next to a garden with a roof that opens on sunny days) and a Jamango water jungle (with 30 water slides that have a combined length of 3 km, including the longest indoor slide in Europe with a length of 320 m; wave machines and a rapid rivers area with a playground). The total area of all pools in the complex will be 3,500 sqm. The construction of the first phase of the amusement park is to begin on 4thMay (On 29thApril, the objection period for the building permit elapsed and it became valid). Suntago is to be completed the end of 2018 and will cost EUR 150 mln. The project is being funded by Global City Holdings funds and bank loans. Global City has also signed a strategic partnership with the Wund group from Germany, which operates four water parks in Germany, including Therme Erding near Munich, on which Suntago is to be based. “We have been working on the project step by step for a few years to be ready to start construction now. The Park of Poland will attract visitors from across the countryas well as tourists from all over Europe, because it is within an hour’s drive of 8 mln people. It’s a massive project, which will give jobs to around 600 people in just the first phase. Moreover, the construction of the water park will be followed by the development of the local infrastructure and hotels, and, last but not least, it will generate income for the Mszczonów authorities. I’d like to thank the mayor of Mszczonów, Józef Kurek. If it wasn’t for his vision, his trust in us and his co-operation, this project would never have begun,” said Mooky Greidinger, an investor from Global City Holdings. After completing Suntago the investor intends to build theme parks, bungalows, hotels, a conference centre and a shopping centre, Silicon Valley-inspired office buildings and apartment buildings within the area of the complex.
