CZECH REPUBLIC Sportisimo’s BTS warehouse in Prologis Park Prague-Rudna has become the first Czech logistics facility and the second such building in the CEE region to receive BREEAM’s highest accreditation rating of Outstanding.

The 33,700 sqm building 18 of the complex, which was completed this year, achieved a BREEAM score of 88.1 pct. Water consumption has been cut by 56 pct in the building, while primary energy consumption has been reduced by 20 pct more than the strictest existing regulations. All energy output is constantly monitored by systems, while the water supply has been equipped with leak detection systems.

An Outstanding rating is awarded for a score of greater than 85 pct for the development’s performance in several core categories such as governance, land use and ecology, resources and energy, social and economic well-being, transport and movement, and innovation.

“This accreditation is testament to the innovation, quality and attention to detail that Prologis brings to the design and construction of all its developments,” claims David Jakes, a senior project manager at Prologis Czech Republic. “Working closely at all times with Sportisimo, Prologis was able to meet the customer’s specific requirements and deliver a new state-of-the-art facility that enhances the well-being of the people who work there and provides major cost savings.”

Prologis Park Prague-Rudna, which is located on the D5 motorway app. 15 km west of the city centre, comprises 213,000 sqm of warehousing in 18 buildings.
