Office, bikes and awareness
EventsBike2Box was responsible for the technical preparation of the event, providing employees of Poleczki Business Park with the equipment (such as bicycle simulators) for individual and group competitions. The aim of the event, which traditionally signals the beginning of the cycling season, is to encourage people to cycle to work . This year Bike Day was combined with raising awareness of autism through partnering with the Synapsis foundation. The charity, which provides professional help to autistic children and adults, contributed the Cube sensory installation within the area of the business park – a multimedia simulator that allows people to see how those with autism interpret reality. “When we invited the Synapsis foundation to join in with Bike Day, we wanted the employees working in the Poleczki Business Park, and there are now almost 4,000 of these, to familiarise themselves with autism and be able to really improve the quality of life of those who have to live with this condition,” says Peter Oberhuber, a member of the board at Poleczki Business Park. “We decided to sponsor each kilometre cycled on a specially prepared bicycle simulator by the employees of the companies located in our park and donate the funds raised to the foundation. Participants managed to cycle a lot of kilometres, thanks to which we raised PLN 5,000 for the foundation,” he adds. “We are grateful to our friends at UBM for the opportunity to take part in the Bike Day. this is the latest initiative, along with the ‘Blue for Autism’ campaign, that we have had the pleasure of working on together. Thanks to the fund raised we will be able to provide around 100 hours of specialist group therapy,” reveals Łukasz Kościuczuk, the coordinator of social campaigns of the Synapsis foundation. “I am personally happy that our long-term cooperation with UBM has taken on a new form, from the result of searching for newer and newer ways to create positive experiences for tenants and their involvement in the everyday life of the project on ul. Poleczki. Today we have taken a small step together in terms of raising awareness,” claims Radosław Kozubski, the founder and managing partner of Bike2Box. Bike2Box and UBM are already planning another event for the end of season, in September.
