EUROPE Toolbox Group is working with Unibail-Rodamco on the Mallcomm communication and operations platform.

Mallcomm is a mobile platform with which shopping centre management teams and retailers across Europe may communicate. Smartphones are used to exchange information necessary for day-to-day operations as well as community sales data, operational alerts, centre news, information for tenants. It works by integrating existing systems (security, data collection and reporting, facilities and marketing) with day-to-day communiqués into one mobile app. Store staff, centre management, and retail staff at all levels including cleaning teams, security and parking attendants are all able to communicate effectively whatever and whenever they need to. Unibail-Rodamco is working with Toolbox Group to deploy this communication tool, which it has been renamed Connect, across a large number of its centres, in Europe. This follows a pilot project in the La Maquinista mall, in Barcelona last year, which resulted in a clear improvement in the centre’s operational efficiency.

“The purpose of this platform is to make communication and interaction easier between shopping centre management and retailers. It is also supports local employment by publishing job offers from the centre’s retailers and service-providers in real time as well as simplifying retailer management. And finally, it creates a sense of belonging by improving the life of the centre and the service provided to its customers,” says Delphine Merle, the group director of operations at Unibail-Rodamco.
