ROMANIA/CZECH REPUBLIC CTP is investing over EUR 13 mln in the extension of CTPark Timișoara with 32,000 sqm, due to the increasing demand in the area. The construction work should be completed in December 2017.

CTPark Timișoara II consists of one one 15,000 sqm building, that will be occupied by a strategic client, and two other spaces of 8,500 sqm each, available for lease. The warehouses have been designed to meet CTP’s premium building and environmental standards: they will feature a 12m clear height, which is the highest in the Romania. “We decided to start construction for CTPark Timișoara II because we signed a lease contract with a strategic client. They wanted to expand their facilities in order to accommodate the needs of their growing business in the region. Another reason was the increasing of the demand in Timișoara area and the necessity for premium industrial and logistic space that is more than warehouses for disposing of merchandise. I notice with excitement that there is a clear upward trend on the logistics and industrial segment in Romania. The local market has a tremendous capacity to develop, especially if we take into consideration the figures: in Czech Republic, for example, there are approximately 400 sqm of industrial space per 1,000 inhabitants, in comparison with Romania where the density is of 128 sqm per 1,000 inhabitants,“ stated Ana Dumitrache, the country head of CTP Romania.

The existing CTPark Timișoara I was acquired in 2015 is currently fully leased to tenants such as Altex, eMAG and Soehner. After the completion of CTPark Timișoara II, the park will total 32,000 sqm gla, of which 17,000 sqm will be available for lease.

CTP has also announced that it will be developing CTPark Humpolec. Eventually the park in Humpolec will have over 6,000 sqm gla.
