ESTONIA NoBe and Kontek Int are to carry out the concreting work for the Porto Franco project business and leisure complex in central Tallinn.

The contract signed with NoBe and the Kontek Int consortium also involves the designing of the three underground level and five above- ground floors of the project. The total value of the contract comes to almost EUR 31 mln.

According to Rauno Teder, a board member of Porto Franco, the preparatory work on the underground levels should be completed in the autumn. “Construction work is scheduled to start this month. The fact that the concreting work is about to begin shows that the creation of the largest leisure centre in Tallinn is in full swing. We want to take advantage of our unique location and give a new face to the Tallinn harbour area,” said Rauno Teder.

“The start of our work on the development of Porto Franco means a great deal to us – we much appreciate the confidence of the managers of Porto Franco in the competence and abilities of our company. It also represents significant recognition for the NoBe design team, whose smart design approach is efficient, yet cost-effective,” added Mait Rõõmussar, the chairman of the board of NoBe.

The design and concreting work carried out by NoBe and Kontek Int will cover a volume of almost 77,000 cubic metres.

Porto Franco is a EUR 160 mln multi-functional project that covers 15 ha between the city centre and the port.

NoBe or Nordecon Betoon, founded in 2000, is a general contractor that offers a complete construction service from designing the building to its completion. Since April 2017, the company has gone by the name NoBe.

Kontek Int, founded in 1992, specialises in concreting work for large-scale construction projects.
