Zones attract investment

POLAND Meble Wójcik, DFM, Heinz Glas Działdowo and PDH Polska are to start new projects in the Pomeranian and the Warmia-Mazury Special Economic Zones.

The enterprises will build new production halls and increase their recruitment. In the Pomeranian Special Economic Zone (PSSE), PDH Polska is to build an installation for the production of propylene for a plastics factory over an area of 50 ha. The company is to employ app. 200 people and could receive a state grant of up to PLN 428 mln. The companies that have obtained new permits to expand in the Warmia-Mazury Special Economic Zone (WMSEE) are Meble Wójcik, DFM and Heinz Glas Działdowo (all were already present in the zone). A total of 185 new jobs will be created thanks to the new projects. DFM in Dobre Miasto is to begin the production of wood furniture elements and to build a lumber mill. It will be investing app. PLN 50 mln in the project, including for the purchase of specialist equipment. Meble Wójcik is to build a production and warehouse hall as well as a production and logistics facility, while it also has plans to extend its IT system and buy automated furniture production lines as well as an automated warehouse service system. The project will require a minimum investment of PLN 50 mln. Meanwhile, Heinz Glas Działdowo is to enlarge and modernise its factory in WMSEE, where it produces glass bottles for the pharmaceutical and perfumery sectors.
