IHG expects the first Avid Hotels to begin construction of the first hotels in early 2018
WORLD InterContinental Hotels Group is introducing a new brand called Avid Hotels.

IHG expects the first Avid Hotels to begin construction of the first hotels in early 2018 with the first opening in early 2019. “We’ve built our Holiday Inn Express brand into a hugely successful, leading midscale brand. Now, with the introduction of Avid Hotels, we’re set to add another one and extend IHG’s leadership position in this segment. With 14 mln potential customers looking for the type of hospitality Avid Hotels will offer, this new hotel brand represents a significant growth opportunity for IHG and our family of owners,” said Keith Barr, the CEO of IHG. Avid Hotels is designed for travellers who are looking for exceptionally good basic hospitality at a price point expected to be about USD 10-15 less than IHG’s industry-leading Holiday Inn Express brand. This brand will be the first to use IHG’s master brand mark – An IHG Hotel – in communications and building signage.

The modern exterior hotel design includes an open and airy retail-like entry with a canopy and uses the stairwell as an eye catching red architectural feature. On the inside, guests will find open public and work areas and inviting communal spaces that allow guests to relax, work, connect or eat. The hotels will offer a complimentary breakfast. The hotels will also use IHG’s reservation system, and guests will benefit from IHG Rewards Club.

The hotels will be new build constructions on an average lot size of approximately 0.6 ha. The prototype design features 95-100 rooms with a minimum of three stories.

The first 100 signed license agreements will be eligible for a two percent fee discount in year one and one percent fee discount in year two (2/1 royalty fee reduction).
