New Bridge in Wrocław
The Bridge will be operated under the MGallery by Sofitel brand
POLAND The foundation stone for The Bridge hotel on Ostrów Tumski island in Wrocław has been laid by developer Tacit Investment.

Artistic renderings of the interior were presented at the ceremony, which was attended by the deputy mayor of Wrocław Adam Grehl, the deputy mayor of Wrocław, the vice president of Orbis Ireneusz Węglowski, as well as representatives of Forum Architekci, Medusa Group and Tacit Development. The hotel is to operate under the MGallery by Sofitel brand when it is opened in Q2 2019.

“The name of the hotel alludes to the bridges in Wrocław and the history of the construction site, where a bridge over the river Odra once stood,” said Karolina Kaim, the president of Tacit Investment. The design of the project arose in consultation with the city authorities. “The development of the new centre will return the site to its historical shape, said the deputy mayor of Wrocław. “We wanted the architecture to allude to neighbouring buildings and not to overwhelm them,” said Michał Goncerzewicz from Forum Architekci and he added that the design work started ten years ago and at the time it was the first hotel the studio had worked on.

Representatives of the designers of the facility’s structure, its interior as well as the brand said that both designs did not require a lot of changes after the selection of the Mgallery brand.

“A few international chains entered our competition, but we chose Mgallery. The brand was selected because it is owned by Accor Hotels and this means that it can reach out to the million members of Accor’s loyalty programme,” said Karolina Kaim. Medusa Group is responsible for the interior design while the general contractor is Strabag. Tacit Investment has also worked on projects such as the Cosmopolitan Twarda 4 luxury apartment building with 44 floors in Warsaw.
