Coca-Cola sells former Slovakian plant

Warehouse & industrial
SLOVAKIA Coca-Cola HBC has sold its former production and distribution complex in Lúka near Piešťany to Priemyselný areál Lúka, which is a joint venture of spirits distiller Slovenské liehovary a likérky and mineral water bottler Waterholding, for an undisclosed price.
The complex comprises around 30,000 sqm with a further 35,000 sqm of adjacent land available for further development. The sale follows Coca-Cola’s descision to close production of the plant, which it announced in October 2015 as a cost-cutting exercise. “After our decision to cease production in Slovakia, we are extremely pleased, that in a relatively short period of time we have been able to sign a contract with a new investor. I am convinced, that we have secured a future not only for this unique production and distribution complex, but also for the community living in the area. Our company remains active on the Slovak market with future investments and the support of other divisions such as sales, logistics, and distribution, which we currently have in Slovakia. We will continue to provide our best service, maintain the quality of our products, and bring innovation to the Slovak market,” said Marian Pavelka, the public affairs and communications manager at Coca-Cola HBC for the Czech and Slovak Republic. Coca-Cola HBC was represented by JLL.
