ESTONIA The government has decided to allocate EUR 7 mln for the renovation of the Kalev Stadium in Tallinn with the work to be completed by 2019.
Over EUR 14 mln will be used to build new stands at the stadium for 15,000 people and will be the only stadium to comply with international norms sport and cultural events. However all future maintenance expenses are to be covered by the owner of the stadium, MTÜ Eesti Spordiselts Kalev. The Kalev Stadium was built in 1955. The reconstruction work should be completed before the jubilee dance festival to be held in 2019.
