Mostostal goes to Kraków hospital

POLAND The Gabriel Narutowicz Specialist Hospital in Kraków is to be enlarged in a project to be carried out by of Mostostal Warszawa southern division.

A diagnosis centre is to be added, as well as a centre for the treatment and prevention of gastrointestinal diseases and endocrine glands. A total of six operating theatres are to be added to the hospital, among other additions.

“The construction work to be carried out by Mostostal Warszawa will concentrate on the southern section of the main hospital building. The contract involves the redevelopment of the fifth floor of the existing south-eastern and central wing, the extension of the fifth floor of the southern wing and an external corridor, work on the superstructure on the south-western fragment of the fifth floor, the construction of machine rooms on the sixth floor and the installation of freight and passenger lifts. Furthermore, the flat roof is to be removed above the fifth floor in the southern wing,” explained Janusz Stanaszek, the director of Mostostal Warszawa’s southern division.

The contract is worth PLN 23.3 mln gross. According to the agreement concluded by the hospital and authorities of Małopolska province, the project is to be financed by the city of Kraków, with some of the funding to be provided by the EU. The project, which is to be carried out under the Małopolska Regional Operational Programme for 2014–2020, has been scheduled for completion in Q4 2018.
