POLAND Korean manufacturer LS Cable & System is to set up an automotive battery parts production plant in Dzierżoniów near the Czech border.
The plant will have a capacity to deliver batteries for about 200,000 cars a year. “We have established a production subsidiary in Poland as a bridgehead for our entry into Europe in line with our global strategy,” said Roe-Hyun Myung, the president and CEO of LS Cable & System. The company has spent USD 18 mln to purchase the plant within the the Dzierżoniów Special Economic Zone, and has begun to install its production facilities. The 9,920 sqm factory stands on a 2.6 ha site and commercial prodiction is set to start in 2019.
