Corner to be filled with hotel
The building will be on corner of ul. Wilcza and ul. Koszykowa
POLAND The Medusa Group architectural studio has published visualisations of a hotel that is under construction on the corner of ul. Wilcza and ul. Koszykowa in Warsaw.

The project is to extend the existing Rialto hotel, which is to be renamed The Bridge. The developer is Tacit Investment through a subsidiary of the Rialto Hotel, while the general contractor is Strabag. The hotel is to be developed on plots that neighbour the Rialto, which currently include a car park and is the former site of a Bliska petrol station. The total area of the new building will amount to 11,800 sqm.

According to the description of the project: “The tight character of the building is intended to recreate the development of this quarter and form a condensed and uniform shape that fits into the characteristic corner shape of the plot. By doing so the building will connect directly with the existing hotel, which operates in a 19th century townhouse. The characteristic dynamic shape of the building will be formed by the overhangs of successive floors alternately towards ul. Koszykowa and ul. Wilcza. The layout of the façade and the large glass elements open onto green terraces, which complement the original shape of the building. The interior design is unpretentious and modern. The basic function of the building will be augmented by restaurants directly accessible from the street as well as an event and co-working area on the first floor of the hotel."

The architects responsible for the design work are Przemo Łukasik and Łukasz Zagała in cooperation with Aleksandra Nowak, Dorota Pala, Wojtek Funkiewicz, Magda Kołłątaj, Paulina Skalska, Kasia Chobot, Bartłomiej Karaś, Natalia Krzeszowska, Izabela Moskal, Michał Sokołowski, Mateusz Rymar and Michał Laskowski.
