Enlightened managers
The dashboard of the Remote System Analysis application
POLAND Zumtobel and Zumtobel Group Services have introduced two new systems for facility managers for the arrangement of office space, the estimation of office operating costs, retail sales and the organisation of cleaning services.

The Space Management system has been designed for effective space management, while the Remote System Analysis system enables the remote analysis of lighting systems. The two new services give investors, facility managers and management personnel an information package on the current status of buildings, the use of the space, the previous and current energy consumption of the lighting system, as well as all any imminent maintenance issues.

The Space Management application allows facility managers to see how the space is being used – when, how often and for what purpose, by using a dashboard and based on the data from the lighting system. It could, for example, be the case that a conference room is rarely used and could effectively be used as a rotation office for employees crowded into other areas. Space Management also informs the user on when and where to increase the number of the cleaning staff.

Cost efficiency can also be improved by using the Remote System Analysis application, which allows managers to plan and determine the maintenance costs in advance. By using the navigation dashboard, users can receive information about the energy consumption, the status of repairs, etc., while early warning provide reports on possible problems. In this way it is possible to ensure that the system operates smoothly at all times. The system is already used by Land Securities in its London offices. Every room has been given its own lighting concept and a variety of control options. One is equipped with intelligent sensors for determining the area being used – for meetings or presentations – and can adjust the lighting appropriately.

Along with the management of bespoke lighting projects, Zumtobel Group Services (ZGS) offers financial models for lighting systems, the design and installation of lighting management systems, emergency lighting systems and post-sales services. The brand is part of the Zumtobel Group, which is based in Dornbirn in the Vorarlberg region of Austria.
