More beer from Żywiec
The brewery will feature a characteristic façade made out of containers
POLAND Polish beer producer Pinta is starting the construction of a brewery in the Radziechowy-Wieprz administrative district near Żywiec.

The plot was purchased by the investor in September 2016 for PLN 1.4 mln from the Katowice Special Economic Zone, and the production of the beer is expected to get underway by the end of 2018. The first stage of the project, which is to cost just under PLN 21 mln, will involve the construction of a complete production and administrative building. The general contractor for the construction work and development of the area is Bielsko-Biała based firm Inbud Bielsko, which was awarded the PLN 10 mln contract in a tender.

The second stage, which should take place in 2019–2020, will involve the construction of a tap room for visitors (a company pub) and will feature a characteristic façade made out of containers. The brewery will produce a line of ice beers unique in scale for Europe. When it is launched the brewery will employ more than 30 people and its production capacity will amount to 20,000 hl of beer per year, but this will eventually be increased to 50,000 hl.

Pinta will close 2017 with sales of around 17,000 hl, up by 3,000 on last year’s figures. So far Pinta has been a contract brewery, leasing plants in Zawiercie and Zarzecze to produce its beer.
