Beth Galí to work for Eurovea
Eurovea 2 is the latest stage of the Eurovea project on the banks of the Danube

SLOVAKIA Spanish landscape architect Beth Galí of the Barcelona BB+GG Architects studio is to design the public areas of the Eurovea 2 waterfront project in Bratislava.

Eurovea 2 is the latest stage of the Eurovea project on the banks of the Danube, which was launched in 2010 by Irish developer Ballymore Properties and in 2014 was purchased by a consortium led by J&T Real Estate, which is owned by Peter Korbačka, for around EUR 360 mln. “The importance of a project such as Eurovea requires not only the construction of high quality buildings but also well designed public spaces with clear script and character. Therefore, upon reaching an agreement with the project developer, we decided to invite Beth Galí, an expert with an international reputation, to cooperate and transfer her experience from European cities to Bratislava as well,” commented Radoslav Grečmal of the GFI architectural studio, which is responsible for Eurovea’s design.

Beth Galí’s task is also to design a manual for unifying the public space within the entire Pribinova Zone, since the project’s designers intention is for it to integrate into the city.

Beth Galí has designed several squares, streets, promenades and parks in European cities, including the city beach promenade in Barcelona, central areas of Cork in Ireland and the waterfront promenade of Hafencity in Hamburg.
