Warsaw agrees to six skyscrapers

Eurobuild CEE 04 December 2017
POLAND The Council of Warsaw has adopted a local zoning plan for the Śródmieście Południowe district, in the vicinity of ul. Poznańska. It will be possible to build six new skyscrapers there, with a height ranging from 94 to 235 sqm.

The new document makes it possible to increase the height of the Marriott and Elektrim skyscrapers (with a height of around 140 meters each at this time) to 160 meters. Meanwhile a skyscraper with a height of up to 235 meters can be built on a neighbouring plot – at the junction of ul. Chałubińskiego and Al. Jerozolimskie. The next skyscraper, measuring 220 meters will be possible to build south of the Elektrim building. The City Hall made it possible to build two skyscrapers measuring 160 and 180 meters at the former plot of the K. Hoffmanowa Secondary School. However, this is not the end of skyscraper-related ambitions of municipal councillors. A 170-metre building will be possible at the junction of ul. E.Plater and ul. Nowogrodzka. The lowest of the permitted skyscrapers will be possible to develop at the junction of ul. Nowogrodzka and ul. Marszałkowska. The councillors permitted a building with a height of 94 meters on a plot which currently includes an office building of one of the banks.
