Jatomi to close down

POLAND Pure Heath & Fitness, the owner of the Jatomi Fitness chain of fitness clubs, is leaving Poland. According to the company’s website there are now 35 clubs in the chain located in shopping centres across Poland.

“Pure Health & Fitness (Jatomi) is currently being closed down. The company is discussing the possiblity of renegotiating leases with shopping centre owners and other fitness operators. We are considering the closure of the clubs in the worst case scenario,” said Trevor Brennan, CEO of Jatomi Fitness.

The main reason behind Jatomi’s decision is the growing price war on the market. “The company cannot sustain profitability in these conditions,” explains Trevor Brennan. He adds that Jatomi is discussing the transfer of leases to other fitness operators. “We are close to agree with a number of chains. It is up to them however if they accept our offer. We care about saving jobs,” says Trevor Brennan.

Jatomi Fitness runs clubs in six Warsaw shopping centres including Blue City, Galeria Rembielińska, Targówek, Zodiak, Atrium Promenada and Sadyba Best Mall. Other centres include Alfa Białystok, Agora Bytom, Klif Gdynia, Szperk Forum Gliwice, Silesia City Center, Supersam in Katowice, Galeria Echo, Korona Kielca, Manufaktura in Łódź, Cuprum Arena in Lublin, Lublin Plaza, Avenida, Malta and Pestka in Poznań, Kosmos and Atrium Koszalin, Galeria Kazimierz, Bonarka City Center and Angel City in Kraków, Mazovia and Atrium Mosty in Płock, Renoma, Pasaż Grunwaldzki, Magnolia Park and Kaskada in Szczecin.
