Eurobuild CEE 22 January 2018
POLAND A, 37.5-km section of A2 motorway is to connect the ring roads of Mińsk Mazowiecki and Siedlce.

Under a PLN 6.5 mln contract signed on January 4th, Multiconsult Polska is to draw up the concept documentation for the road to comply with the binding environmental decisions as well as the geological conditions within 14 months. “With the design concept it will be possible to announce a tender for the road section from Mińsk Mazowiecki to Siedlce. Financing has been secured as well as a permit due to last year’s decision by the government to amend the National Road Construction Programme for the years 2014-2023 and increase its financing from PLN 107 to PLN 135 bln,” said Andrzej Adamczyk, the minister of infrastructure and construction. The tender for the section of the A2 should be announced in 2019 with construction contracts to be signed in 2020. The estimated development costs should be over PLN 1.5 bln with the section to be completed in 2023. The A2 section, which forms the ring road around Mińsk Mazowiecki has already been built and was opened in 2012. In 2017, a contract was signed for the construction of A2 from Warsaw to Mińsk Mazowiecki and work is to be completed in 2020. Additionally the A2 should reach Biała Podlaska by 2025 and plans are being made for the A2 to go on to the border with Belarus. The A2 will also make up Warsaw’s Southern Ring Road, the construction contracts for which were signed in December 2015 and work began at the end of 2017 after the final permits and decisions were issued. The work should be completed in 2020.
