Back to school in Vilnius
The schools have two storeys with 800 sqm
LITHUANIA In 2018, seven modular nursery schools will be built in Vilnius, with places for around 900 children with an estimated construction cost of app. EUR 7.3 mln.

Three construction companies (Litcon, Kriautė and Irdaiva) were selected to build the centres in a tender last year in December. The companies have three months to prepare their designs and obtain the necessary permits. Each nursery school should take between 2 to 4 months to construct. The two-storey buildings will each have an area of 800 sqm and include changing rooms, bedrooms, a dining room and washing facilities. Once the buildings have been constructed, the surrounding grounds are to be developed with garden houses, playgrounds and paths. Each schools will have six groups of 15-17 children and half of the children will be under the age of four. The first such school was opened in the Santaryszki district in January 2017 (with an area of app. 350 sqm). The ‘Mini darželiai’ nursery school has places for 60 children. Four new nursery schools should be built by 2019 in Warki, Poszyłajcice and Zameczek with places for 800 children..
