Netto chooses Janusz Stroka to lead expansion
Janusz Stroka has twenty years of experience in retail
POLAND The Netto retail chain is planning to open 40 stores every year from 2020 under the leadership of Janusz Stroka, the company’s new general director.

“Janusz Stroka’s main task will be to speed up the growth and further development of the Netto chain in Poland,” says Michael Loeve, the general director of Netto International. “As a Pole Janusz perfectly understands the culture and market, which is of great importance for us,” he adds.

Janusz Stroka has twenty years of experience in retail in Poland and abroad (including in Russia and Ukraine). His most recent position was as a director in the REWE group. “Our plans for Netto Polska are very ambitious and very exciting. Our aim is to invest in our existing stores as well as to expand through opening new centres,” says Janusz Stroka. The Netto chain originated in Denmark and it has been in Poland for 23 years. The company currently has around 370 shops in Poland as well as three distribution warehouses and it employs app. 5,500 people. Netto Polska’s strategy is to locate its stores near residential areas. Around 95 pct of the goods it sells, come from Polish suppliers. The chain is also present in Denmark, Sweden and Germany.
