HUNGARY Scientific publisher Wolters Kluwer and its subsidiary Akadémiai Kiadó are to move their headquarters into the Lokomotív Ház business park in Budapest’s Újbuda district.

"The aim of the renovations is to accommodate our tenants in a modern, friendly environment and to satisfy their needs for the long term. In the spirit of environmentally-conscious thinking, the interior courtyard of the building is to be planted. Additionally, the modernisation and extension of the current parking area as well as the internal road network will be repaved cover an electric car charging station will also be installed,” said Erzsébet Kőszeghy, who is in charge of asset management for Lokomotív Ház and the Markó Irodák 9 office buildings.

The park, which currently comprises four buildings, was formerly a chocolate factory and as a result the complex retains industrial features such as high ceilings.. The modernization of the buildings’ HVAC system is to be completed soon. The 2,500 sqm building B was renovated last year and is waiting for its new tenants and the façades of buildings A and "D", on Budafoki and Galvani streets, will be given a new design and state-of-the-art insulation this year. A new restaurant with a terrace is to open in the summer.

"We found a common language with the landlord at the very beginning of the project. The particularly characterful office building, which has been converted from a historic industrial building, represents the values of Wolters Kluwer and Akadémiai Kiadó," added Gábor Tóth, director of Wolters Kluwer. The deal was brokered by CBRE.
