First Dealz store to open in February
Retail & leisureDealz, which will occupy an area of 527 sqm in the shopping centre, offers household goods, food, pharmaceutical and cosmetic products as well as home and decorative accessories at competitive prices. The company has also leased space in the Kalinka retail park in Kalisz.
“Dealz is a new format, both in Poland and in this part of Europe, that has already been well received in Western European countries. I am proud that the first Polish store of our chain will be opening in ETC Swarzędz, as it suits us perfectly. From February 9th we will offer our clients the opportunity to buy products of popular, good brands at always favourable prices,” says Marcin Langowski, the managing director of Dealz CEE. “In 2018, we are going to open 20 stores across Poland and to be operating in at least 200 locations in the three years’ time. We are initially aiming to open a minimum of 1,000 outlets in Central and Eastern Europe over a six-year period. This is an ambitious plan; however, the trail has been blazed our sister company Pepco, which already has over 1,300 shops in Poland and is planning to open 300 more in 2018,” adds Marcin Langowski.
“Swarzędz and its surrounding area is a region with high purchasing potential and ETC itself has been operating a loyal and large group of regular customers on the local retail market for over 20 years. After the completion of the renovation work, which took over a year and has raised the centre to a completely different standard, there has been a positive growth trends in terms of its footfall. We hope that all these factors will make the Dealz chain grow dynamically in our centre and the successes will encourage the brand's owners to look for more locations and markets for expansion,” comments Marcin Juszczyk, a board member of the Capital Park group, the joint owner of ETC Swarzędz along with Akron Group.
The Poundland / Dealz group has been active since 1990. It has more than 900 stores in Western Europe and the UK and employs over 18,000 people. The Dealz chain belongs to the Pepkor Europe group, the owner of Pepco and Poundland UK / Dealz Western Europe. After the its refurbishment, ETC Swarzędz now has an area of 20,000 sqm with 80 retail and service units. The BOIG group is responsible for the leasing of the centre.
