Mondi Simet plant built with BIM
Strabag has constructed the new buildings in Grabonóg near Gostyń
POLAND Strabag has completed a production plant in Grabonóg near Gostyń (70 km south of Poznań).

By using the Building Information Modelling (BIM) system, the investor, Mondi Simet, has been able to monitor and control each stage of the project.

The complex has been modernised as well as expanded, with the addition of a production and warehouse hall including rest, refreshment and technical facilities, a boiler house and pumping station building and a technological tank along with the installation of sprinkler systems and two groundwater reservoirs. New electrical and sanitary installations have been added, as well as 52 parking spaces and ten places for trucks, as along with the necessary technical and road infrastructure.

The Building Information Modelling 5D (BIM.5D) system was used for the project, which allowed the Mondi Group to view a virtual image of the project to see its state at each stage of the work. During the design stage it was also possible to follow the cost analysis, the amount of materials and the time of implementation as well as to track possible incompatibilities and other issues.

Strabag is an Austrian construction group that has been operating in Poland since 1987.
