Skanska begins second Nowy Rynek building
All the buildings of the Nowy Rynek project are to be LEED certified
POLAND Skanska has launched construction work on its second office building in its Nowy Rynek complex, which is being developed in Poznań close to both the Dworzec Główny railway station and Poznań's Old Town.

Eventually, the 3.8 ha site will include various buildings such as an urban market as well as recreation and entertainment facilities.

Work began on the first 25,000 sqm gla building in August 2017. The second building which should be delivered in Q3 2019 will comprise almost 12,000 sqm gla. The first stage of the project is made up of the first two buildings, which were both designed by Maćków Pracownia Projektowa.

“Skanska has already completed a wide range of large, complex projects worldwide, which combine office, residential, hotel and cultural space. There are examples of such projects developed in Stockholm, Malmo and Boston. Now,for the first time, we will construct such a mixed-use project in the Central and Eastern Europe region. Nowy Rynek will be developed in a location that deserves to be restored to its former prominence to become a place that Poznań's residents will be proud of,” says Mariusz Krzak, the regional director at Skanska Property Poland.

The buildings in the complex are to be certified under the “Building without Barriers” scheme, ensuring that the complex is accessible to the disabled, parents with children, the elderly and those who do not speak Polish.

All the buildings in the project are to meet the requirements of LEED ‘Gold’ certification.
