POLAND Reynaers is launching in Poland prefabricated façade elements that enable faster and safer assembly. Normally, a façade made of aluminium profiles is created on a construction site by joining together vertical poles and horizontal bolts, with the glazing being fitted later on.
Element-based façades, on the other hand, are made from ready-made, prefabricated elements that are assembled on site like building blocks by mounting them on a building’s structure and adjacent modules. The technology allows the corpus of a building to be sealed quickly without installing external scaffolding as the prefabricated elements are transported to each floor and mounted from the inside. However, the creator of the system Reynaers admits that the price of this solution is higher than in the case of traditional technology. “These costs are partly offset by the shorter assembly time and savings on external scaffoldings. With element-based facades organising the construction site is much easier and there is less waste after assembly,” says Michał Serzycki, regional director for projects at Reynaers Polska. The prefabrication system also has another important advantage – in factory conditions it is easy to control the quality of all connections and the sealing of glass panes. Element-based façade systems meet all water-tightness, hermetic, soundproofing and wind load resistance standards. Dsign variants and the level of thermal insulation can be selected. Reynaers’ element-based façades have been installed in Tykhe hotels in Luanda, Angola and the Four Seasons in Bahrain as well as in Vilnius City Hall. In Poland, a Reynaers’ element-based façade can be found on the Center of New Technologies building at the University of Warsaw on ul. Banacha.
