Five stars under renovation
The Intercontinental hotel was built in 2003
POLAND Interior design studio Tétris is completing work on 8,500 sqm on 13 floors of the five-star Intercontinental Warsaw.

Seven floors of the hotel have already been handed over by the contractor. The work includes the renovation of rooms and corridors as well as the replacement of installations. The renovation of the restaurant section is to be completed by early 2019. “Over 2017 we saw a large increase in inquiries for hotel interior design. It can clearly be seen that momentum is building up within the industry and expectations as to the quality, scale and speed of work are increasing. We are preparing to launch six large projects right now and more are in advanced negotiations,” says Krzysztof Poznański, a senior project manager at Tétris. InterContinental Warsaw, which was opened in 2003, is 164m in height and was built by UBM, Warimpex and InterContinental Hotels Group at a cost of EUR 113 mln. In 2012 the property was purchased for EUR 100 mln by WestInvest InterSelect, which is owned by the open property fund of the German DekaBank group.
