Corporate social responsibility
POLAND Every patient and guest of the Children's Memorial Health Institute now has free internet access. More than 700 people joined the WiFi network on the day of its launch.

In H2 2017 the management of the centre started negotiations with StarNet Telecom and the design and installation, which includes almost 80 antennae, is certified to comply with all medical standards as does not interfere with hospital equipment. “Staying in a hospital is stressful for both children and parents, so we try to provide our patients with various distractions from their tests and treatments. Access to the Internet will not provide entertainment for children and parents but it will also make it easier to stay in contact with your relatives,” says Katarzyna Gardzińska, a representative of the Children's Memorial Health Institute. “I’ve spent a lot of time with my son in the health institute so I knew what patients, many of whom are bedridden, miss. Television is no longer what we want, it’s internet access that’s irreplaceable these days. I hope that the work we have done will be of great benefit to the patients and their families,” says Piotr Dąbroś, the president of StarNet Telecom.
