POLAND Bike2Box has developed the Bikeplace Mesh concept for cyclists who use office buildings.

The designer of Bikeplace Mesh is Ryszard Rychlicki, formerly an architect with Dutch-based UNStudio.

“When designing these facilities I was looking for inspiration from the co-working space that is popular nowadays. Mesh combines the functions of bicycle parking, a locker room/changing room and a clothes drying room and is designed to be an inseparable element of the modern office,” explains Ryszard Rychlicki.

According to Bike2Box’s research, most cyclists do not need to use showers and changing rooms, they only want to be able to dry a wet jacket or coat and leave their bikes in a secure place. The shelter mounted in the underground car park includes Twist bicycle hangers, with which it is not necessary to raise the bicycle and thus is more space-effective. Up to 40 bikes can be stored on three parking spaces.

Bike2Box is a Polish company specialising in user-friendly approaches for those who commute to work by bike. The company’s offers comprehensive bicycle parking design services, systems for managing the movement of cyclists in buildings as well as training sessions and events for property managers and employers.
