First prize was PLN 30,000
POLAND Pniewski Architekci from Gdynia has won the competition for the concept of the green areas on the southern side of the Palace of Culture and Science organised by the city of Warsaw.
“Last year we started to think about what to do with this extremely exposed space, which is used by thousands of Warsaw residents every day. We wanted to make a powerful statement, which I think the design selected in the competition will be. After all the design we choose will be kept for many years,” says Michał Olszewski, one of the deputy mayors of Warsaw.

The work will give consistency, shape and scale to the main avenue between the Dmowskiego roundabout and the Central Railway Station and will suit the formal and functional nature of the site,” states the competitiion jury.

Four of the 18 entries metall of the conditions of the competition. The jury decided to award a joint third prize and one honourable mention to Budcud Mateusz Adamczyk.
