Skanska took homw the Grand Prize
POLAND The awards for the third Access Leader Competition of Architecture and Urban Planning have now been presented.

The competition was organised by the Integration Foundation and the Association of Polish Urban Planners under the honorary patronage of Andrzej Duda, the President of the Republic of Poland. The competitions promotes buildings and public spaces without barriers for the disabled. The This year the jury awarded a grand prize, as well as seven other awards and four distinctions. The Winners were

•The Grand Prize: Skanska Group

• Architect/Urban planner: Marek Wysocki

• Service building: Green2Day

• Service building (distinction): Posnania shopping centre

• Service building (distinction): Gdańsk Shakespeare Theatre

• Multiple facilities: Łódzka Kolej Aglomeracyjna commuter rail service

• Historic building: Europeum – theEuropean Culture Centre (a part of the National Museum in Kraków)

• Historic building (distinction): EC1 Łódź – City of Culture

• Residential building: Skanska Residential Development Poland.

“At Skanska we want to build without barriers. It is important to us that all users and visitors to our buildings simply feel good about them.,” said Katarzyna Zawodna-Bijoch, the CEO of Skanska Commercial Development Europe. The remaining prizes (for Local Government and Public Spaces) will be presented at the 6th Congress of Polish Urban Planning between June 20th and June 22nd in Gdynia.
