EUROPE At the ECE Polish Retail Day 2018 Joanna Fisher, the managing director of ECE Projektmanagement, outlined the coompany’s strategy stating that the company is focusing on creating modern, friendly space and is also looking to create a friendly atmosphere, with good amenities such as convenient car parks beautiful interiors, and well maintained toilets, rest areas and information points.

Over 2018-2020, ECE wants to invest EUR 190 mln on creating such spaces. The company is also working on improving its Digital Mall platform (which currently only works with one of their malls in Germany). The platform allows shoppers to browse the product range of the mall’s tenants over the internet, as well as to reserve or purchase goods before picking them up in store. “When creating Digital Mall, we worked with 150 tenants in our shopping centre in Germany. The project has been a great success and we are continuously expanding it,” says Joanna Fisher. ECE is also looking at improving the entertainment services in the centres in its portfolio. This includes cinemas, trampoline parks, wind tunnels and pools with wave machines for surfing. The company is also experimenting with various food concepts such as Foodtopia and Food Sky and has also launched its We Love Food programme.
