The design of the future Museum of Polish History, by local studio WXCA
POLAND At the end of May Budimex was awarded a PLN 460 mln net contract by the Museum of Polish History to construct its new home within the Warsaw Citadel.
The work will include the construction of the building along with the necessary installations suitable for a permanent exhibition of the history of Poland. Apart from the exhibition section, it will have conservation workshops, laboratories, storage rooms, an education centre as well as offices and staff rooms on six floors (four above-ground and two underground).

The museum will also feature a cinema room, a library, a restaurant and a café. The reinforced concrete structure of the building is to be adorned with a stone façade and a glazed main entrance. All the work should be completed in February 2021. The Museum of Polish History has been designed by Warsaw-based studio WXCA.

The Museum of the Polish Army will also be built in the Warsaw Citadel. This will have 7,000 sqm of permanent exhibition space and a 1,500 sqm temporary exhibition area. The auditorium will have seating for around 600 people and the cinema room for 150 people. The total area of ​​the building will come to more than 54,000 sqm, 32,000 sqm of which will above-ground and 22,000 underground.
